First up: disgraced former Kiama MP Gareth Ward appeared in court on Friday via video link from prison, ahead of his sentencing next month.
In brighter news, more than 600 people turned out for the Business Illawarra Awards at WIN Stadium on Friday night. Six Kiama businesses were among the nominees, while Sicona Battery Technologies took out Business of the Year.
Saturday night saw a throwback party at the Geringong Co-op, with the Disco Revolution drawing a groovy crowd of locals to the dance floor.
Meanwhile, the Kiama Woodcraft Group is in dispute with council over the disappearance of its library collection. The club says its books vanished during renovations at the Joyce Wheatley Centre.
Over in Warilla, the Origin Reconciliation Cup brought together 150 students and police officers for a day of mixed oz-tag and community connection.
In sport, the Kiama Hockey Club celebrated grand final wins in third and fifth grade, while second and fourth grade fell just short.
The Jamberoo Superroos women's league tag teams were also defeated in both of their grand final appearances.
And looking ahead - it's the grand final week in Group 7 Rugby League. The Kiama Knights' first grade team will face the Shellharbour Sharks, while reserve grade takes on the Stingrays of Shellharbour. All eyes on Sunday.
