Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Albion Park

A pedestrian has died following a crash in Albion Park overnight.


About 11.10pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to the M1 Princes Highway at Croom following reports of a crash.


Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District arrived to find a man had been hit by a car.



The man – believed to be in his 40s - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.


He is yet to be formally identified.


The driver of the car – a 46-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.


Police established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the cause of the crash.



As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with dashcam footage or information about the incident to contact Lake Illawarra Police.
