The Sydney Morning Herald has just published its 2025 Good Food Guide, listing just about every worthwhile food destination in NSW.
It raves about good eating from the Southern highlands, Wollongong to Orange down to Ulladulla and Merimbula. All good reading,
However, there is not one mention of any kind of dining experience in Kiama.
We have more than once been voted the most favourite holiday town in NSW.
It seems though that we've become all day-tripper, ice creams and burgers, with not enough balance in what's on offer.
The town, with its coastal aspects, offers the most wonderful chance to present a seafood bar and grill experience.
An inviting restaurant in the charismatic harbour with more style is what we need, as well as only the fish and chips takeaway, already on offer.
The potential for Kiama to be more than a drive in, drive out day-trip restaurant experience is an untapped market.
Let's hope, the future will offer a little more than coffee and toasties, enabling more scope for a worthwhile example of just what is possible in the culinary world of 2025.
The Herald's Good Food Guide presents a tantalising list of South Coast epicurean delights.
It's a shame we don't get a mention.
