Some mornings, the weight of the world feels unbearable - wars, hunger, pollution, injustice, and a planet in crisis.
It’s easy to lose faith in humanity.
But then I go for a sunrise walk along Kiama’s stunning coastline … and there they are. Ann and Michael. Rain, hail or shine, these two quiet legends, both older locals, are out with bags in hand, picking up rubbish.
No fuss, no fanfare.
They don’t lecture, they don’t boast, they don’t post about it.
They simply care.
Their small, consistent act reminds me that kindness still exists.
That change doesn’t always roar, it often whispers.
Ann and Michael, you are a beacon of hope.
Thank you.
A grateful Kiama resident
