Beware of solar companies falsely claiming to represent Council

Kiama Council has issued a warning to ratepayers to be aware of some solar companies who may be contacting residents and falsely claiming to represent Council or the ISJO Community Solar Bulk Buy Program.

Council's only endorsed partner for the solar and battery bulk buy program is ShineHub.

This company was selected for its proven track record in delivering trusted, community-based renewable energy programs.

ShineHub has gone through an in-depth procurement process designed to ensure residents are confident and protected, and the products and services offered through the program have been thoroughly vetted.

They do not engage in unsolicited engagement with residents.

This means no cold calls, door knocking, or unrequested visits to your home.

All communication from ShineHub will occur only after a resident has registered interest in receiving information about the program through official Council or ShineHub marketing channels.

If you are contacted by anyone claiming to represent Council or the ISJO program without your prior consent, please:

● Do not share personal or financial details.

● Take note of the company name and representative name and report it to Kiama Council at [email protected]

● Visit shinehub.com.au/ISJO or contact ShineHub directly at [email protected] to confirm legitimate program details.
